I hadn't read or seen much from you for a bit. But your vibe in your most recent few videos and in this essay feels like the season of spring. Fresh, hopeful, light. I like it!
I read this on the mobile app of my email, so surprisingly "the blog" system still works! I got so ~late~ into it but it's a straightforward process that will work as intended when rigged properly. Me and my friend complained a while back about how there were no Turkish language users of Substack but then i saw a Twitter user with substaintail follower count, start a Substack and just begin getting read, so, it's just in how you do it, and can work even in the 2020s!
Im stepping out of the public school system to reimagine education as an entrepreneur. It is definitely harder work. But like you write, people think it's something like digging holes and looking for gold. It's not. It's like trying to build a twenty meter high card tower in a windy day, but sometimes the cards turn into squirrels and run away, and everybody around you is a little concerned and disappointed in you that you aren't an engineer.
I sympathise with this. I particularily enjoyed the observation about group chats, and the inevitable split they all experience. Another aspect to getting into art is getting over the very big pond problem. What do you think of that?
Love this piece -- I'm curious what you meant by the phrase "missing markets," though. I've got a rough idea of what you're saying but it's not completely clear. Is this something you've written about before?
it's a concept from economics! i'm using it in a loose, not-very-strict sense, basically just the idea that there are situations where people want something but can't get it
I really enjoyed this one! It had a beautiful lack of urgency. Less "ayy lmao" and more "ayy lqtm".
> ayy lqtm
😂

you inspired me to post my fb story about having a traditional drink with some OGs in the market in substack https://www.explorations.ph/p/sunday-morning-drink
